Gouache, watercolour, acrylics & chalk pastel
I have been creating art since childhood, supported by my encouraging parents who enrolled me in various art classes and camps. Art has always been a passion, and I spent countless hours drawing both in and out of school. In university, I studied Visual Arts under the guidance of Oakville artist James Tughan, with the goal of becoming an artist educator for grades 7-10. However, life led me down a different path, and now art serves as a creative outlet that I enjoy during my leisure time.
Starting with graphite, I gradually ventured into chalk pastels and later experimented with acrylics, oils, watercolors, and gouache (which is currently my personal favorite). While I initially focused on black and white pieces, I am now learning to incorporate color more freely. I am particularly drawn to illustrative, emotional, and story-telling styles, finding inspiration in artists such as The Group of Seven, Michelle Morin, Loré Pemberton, and Per Adolfsen.
