As an intuitive artist, I approach a new painting by lightly writing my thoughts in pencil. While eventually multiple layers of paint will cover most if not all, I love that the words are forever intertwined with the paint. Telling my stories on canvas. The seasons, folklore, water, trees, nature and our interconnectedness to it all strongly influences my work.
I paint in a whimsical surrealism art style. Subjects range from birds and nests to wise instinctual women with contrasts of vibrant colours and ethereal washes.
I make my home in the core area of Burlington. A beautiful spot where on any given day I can walk along the lake or woodland paths. I often feel I am walking a painting into existence.
